Know the price before we start.

We publish our prices because you should be able to plan a budget before the first call. Every project is a fixed price per stage. You are never billed by the hour.

Ongoing

Fixed fee, milestones or retainer?

How each pricing model works, and when to use it. We recommend fixed price per stage for most modernization and build projects.

Fixed price per stage

Recommended
Best for
Modernization and new builds with a clear scope after discovery.
How it works
Each stage has a written scope and a fixed price.
What you get
Budget certainty. You know the cost before any work starts.

Milestone-based

Best for
Larger programs where later stages depend on what earlier ones uncover.
How it works
Payments are tied to delivered, working milestones, not to time spent.
What you get
You pay for results you can see and test.

Monthly retainer

Best for
Dedicated engineers, fractional CTO, support plans and AI agents.
How it works
One flat monthly fee for an agreed team or scope of service.
What you get
Predictable cost and a team that knows your business.

Why we never bill hourly. Hourly billing rewards slow work and leaves you carrying the risk. Freelance marketplaces list AI developers at $30–$150 an hour with no promise about the result. We'd rather own the result: a fixed price, and a team that's still there after launch.

Buyer protections, in writing.

  • Fixed price, in writing
  • You own 100% of the code and IP
  • The team that builds it supports it
  • Never billed by the hour
  • Founded 2009
  • US time zones, fluent English

Pricing questions.

How much does it cost to work with IT Crowd?

Most clients start with a free 2-hour systems review, then a fixed-price discovery sprint ($5,000–$15,000, two to four weeks). Discovery ends with a fixed quote for each stage of the work. Ongoing engagements are flat monthly fees: dedicated engineers from $6,000/month and fractional CTO from $4,000/month. You are never billed by the hour.

Why don't you bill by the hour?

Hourly billing rewards slow work and leaves you carrying the risk. A fixed price puts the risk on us and lets you plan your budget.

What if the scope changes mid-project?

Changes are quoted in writing before any extra work starts. Nothing shows up on an invoice you didn't approve.

Do I have to continue after the discovery sprint?

No. The map, plan and quote are yours to keep, whether you build with us, with someone else or in-house.

What happens after launch?

The team that built it stays on to support it, on a flat monthly plan sized to your systems. You're never left without someone who knows your software.
